Florida Windshield Insurance Claims: A Clear Guide for Drivers

Florida windshield coverage depends on the policy. Eligible comprehensive windshield claims may have no deductible under Florida law, but that does not mean every driver or every type of auto glass qualifies for a free replacement. Coverage should be verified before service is scheduled.

Start with the policy, not the advertisement

The insurer determines whether the loss is covered, which deductible applies, what documentation is required, and whether calibration is included. Liberty Automotive Glass can collect the vehicle and damage details needed for an estimate, but only the insurer can confirm benefits.

Information commonly needed

  • Policyholder name and insurer.

  • Vehicle year, make, model, and VIN.

  • Date and general cause of the damage.

  • The glass location and clear damage photos.

  • Service ZIP code and contact information.

  • Any camera, sensor, or driver-assistance equipment near the windshield.

ADAS calibration may be a separate requirement

If the windshield supports a forward-facing camera or related safety equipment, the manufacturer may require calibration after replacement. The glass and calibration should be evaluated together so the estimate reflects the complete procedure.

Avoid blanket “free windshield” promises

A responsible quote should explain what is known, what depends on coverage, and any customer responsibility before work begins. Liberty does not condition service on assigning post-loss glass or ADAS insurance benefits, and does not offer claim incentives.

Self-pay remains an option

Drivers may also request a direct cash quote. The final price depends on the glass, moldings and materials, vehicle options, mobile location, and any required calibration.
